About Me

I am a PhD student at the University of New England, Australia, School of ERS, originally from Haramaya University, Ethiopia. I hold a BSc in Natural Resources from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia, and an MSc in Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation from the University of Twente (ITC), Netherlands. My research focuses on drought monitoring using Earth Observation data and machine learning techniques across Eastern Africa. I integrate satellite, climate, and geospatial data to develop models that support ecosystem resilience, sustainable land management, and climate adaptation.
